The Toronto Maple Leafs broke out of a baffling scoring slump last time out and hope to build off that effort when they visit the suddenly struggling Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday. The Maple Leafs had managed a total of four goals in four games, including losses in three straight, before scoring four times in the first period en route to an 8-1 victory over Carolina on Tuesday afternoon.

The Detroit Red Wings have bounced back well since beginning the month with a 10-1 loss in Montreal and look to extend their point streak to five contests when they continue their four-game road trip Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers. Detroit enjoyed a 2-1-2 homestand after being trounced by the Canadiens on Dec. 2 and kicked off its trek with Tuesday's 6-3 triumph over the New York Islanders.

After stumbling in the opener of a four-game road trip, the St. Louis Blues aim to regain their footing on Wednesday when they visit the Calgary Flames. A sputtering offense continued to plague St. Louis on Sunday as it was shut out for the second time in four games following a 4-0 setback to Winnipeg in the back end of a home-and-home series.
