Preview Roundups
March 17, 2017
Florida at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
With a firm hold on the first wild card in the Eastern Conference, the New York Rangers still have their sights set on one of the top three spots in the Metropolitan Division. New York will need to reverse its fortunes at home to have a chance, however, and looks to begin the turnaround against the Florida Panthers on Friday.
New Jersey at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins' quest for the Presidents' Trophy has stalled of late, but they hope to get back on track when they host the New Jersey Devils on Friday. Pittsburgh has followed a five-game winning streak with a shootout defeat in Calgary and Wednesday's shutout loss at Philadelphia that concluded a 3-1-1 road trip but still trails Washington for first in the NHL by only three points.
Dallas at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The Calgary Flames saw their 10-game winning streak come to an end last time out and look to start another run when they host the struggling Dallas Stars on Friday night. The Flames, who are in a three-way battle for second place in the Pacific Division with Anaheim and Edmonton, lost 5-2 against Boston on Wednesday without red-hot Brian Elliott (illness) in net.
Buffalo at Anaheim 10:00 PM ET
Captain Ryan Getzlaf is lifting his game to a higher level at the right time and his Anaheim Ducks are attempting to break away from a three-way battle for second place in the Pacific Division as they host the struggling Buffalo Sabres on Friday. Getzlaf recorded three goals and nine assists over the last seven games since the league-mandated “bye week” and the Ducks are 5-2-0 in that stretch.
