Preview Roundups
November 13, 2018
Wisconsin at Xavier 6:30 PM ET

Xavier is breaking in a lot of new players under first-year coach Travis Steele, and despite two wins to open the season, the rookie coach knows his team needs to get better should they want to return to the NCAA Tournament for a sixth straight year. Their competition starts to get better Tuesday when Wisconsin visits as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games.

N.C. Asheville at NC State 7:00 PM ET
North Carolina State is on fire to open the 2018-19 season and outscoring its opponents by an average of 48 points through two games. The Wolfpack will look for a third straight win as they welcome UNC Asheville on Tuesday evening.
Southern at Louisville 7:00 PM ET
Chris Mack was probably envisioning a smoother debut as head coach of Louisville but, in the end, he got what he wanted: a win. The Cardinals will try to make it two in a row when they host Southern on Tuesday evening.
Stephen F. Austin at Miami-Florida 7:00 PM ET
Miami continues its season-opening home stretch with a visit from Southland Conference preseason favorite Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday in the teams' first ever encounter. The Hurricanes opened their season with a romp past Lehigh 83-62, while the Lumberjacks pulled out their second win of the season 68-67 over the NAIA's Southwest Assemblies of God.
Norfolk State at South Carolina 7:00 PM ET
South Carolina hosts Norfolk State on Tuesday, but the singular focus for the Gamecocks is on themselves following a stunning 83-81 upset loss at home to Stony Brook on Friday. All-SEC forward Chris Silva did not play the final 10:18 after picking up his fourth foul, and coach Frank Martin has not minced words when it comes to the lackluster play of his veterans through two games.
Memphis at Louisiana State 7:00 PM ET
LSU looks to improve to 3-0 on the season when it welcomes Memphis to town for a non-conference matchup Tuesday. LSU has averaged 95.5 points in topping Southeastern Louisiana and UNC Greensboro at home in its first two contests, while Memphis comes in off a win in its opener against Tennessee Tech.
Georgia at Temple 7:00 PM ET
Shizz Alston Jr.'s career at Temple has been a story of highs and lows. That was no more evident than in the first two games this season, and now Alston will aim to achieve some consistency Tuesday when the Owls host Georgia.
Holy Cross at Providence 7:00 PM ET
With the departure of longtime standouts such as Rodney Bullock and Kyron Cartwright at the end of last season, Providence needed at least one player from its stellar recruiting class to step up quickly. A.J. Reeves has done exactly that through the first two games of his college career, and he'll attempt to maintain his hot start Tuesday when the Friars host Holy Cross in a campus round game of the Hall of Fame Tip Off.
North Carolina Central at Cincinnati 7:00 PM ET
Cincinnati opened its schedule with a challenging intrastate rivalry and wound up on the wrong end of a 64-56 score against Ohio State. The Bearcats should have an easier time with North Carolina Central when the Eagles pay a visit on Tuesday.
Southeastern Louisiana at Texas Tech 7:30 PM ET
Texas Tech lost a lot of offense from last season's Elite Eight team but two early games have produced new scoring threats for the Red Raiders. The deep and balanced Red Raiders will try to win their 41st consecutive non-conference home game when they host Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday night.
Drake at Colorado 8:00 PM ET
Colorado has the Wright stuff - plus a big dose of inspiration - to exceed outside expectations as it begins the season by hosting Drake on Tuesday. The Buffaloes, who were picked to finish seventh in the Pac-12 preseason poll, haven't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2016 and haven't won more than one game in four Big Dances under ninth-year coach Tad Boyle.
Coastal Carolina at Tulane 8:00 PM ET
Tulane will look to avoid its first 0-2 start in nearly a decade Tuesday when the Green Wave host Coastal Carolina. Tulane was looking to win a game against a ranked opponent for the first time since 1999 on Sunday but lost 80-69 to No. 15 Florida State.
Georgetown at Illinois 8:30 PM ET
Jessie Govan and Georgetown will venture to Big Ten country to face Illinois on Tuesday as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. The Hoyas, who are in search of their second straight 3-0 start, haven't had much success against the Big Ten lately or against the Fighting Illini in general.
Georgia Tech at Tennessee 9:00 PM ET
So far everything has gone according to plan for No. 6 Tennessee, which hosts Georgia Tech on Tuesday after all five starters scored in double figures in both of the Volunteers victories to open the season. The unit of Grant Williams, Jordan Bone, Jordan Bowden, Admiral Schofield and Kyle Alexander averaged 73.5 points per game in easy triumphs of Lenoir-Rhyne and Louisiana after Williams led the way with 31 points against Louisiana Friday.
Hampton at California 10:00 PM ET
Expect more growing pains for California, which set a school-record total for losses last season and began this campaign with a 17-point loss to Yale in Shanghai, China on Friday. The Bears return home Tuesday to take part in the GotPrint.com Legends Classic against Hampton, which scored 110 points in its season-opening win over Mid-Atlantic Christian University before dropping a 69-57 decision on Friday to VCU.
