Preview Roundups
April 04, 2017
Brooklyn at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets will try to continue their improved late-season play when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday. The Nets finished February with their 16th straight loss to fall to 9-49, but they are a respectable 9-10 ever since and won both contests on a two-game homestand over the weekend.
Charlotte at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Wizards were one of the hottest teams in the NBA from Christmas through the middle of March but are beginning to lose some steam as they return home on Tuesday to host the Charlotte Hornets. The Wizards have dropped three in a row still have a shot at the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference but are running out of time to move up.
Orlando at Cleveland 7:00 PM ET
The Cleveland Cavaliers look to put an end to the daily drama around the team on and off the court and notch a third straight victory when they host the struggling Orlando Magic on Tuesday night. The Cavaliers edged Indiana 135-130 in double overtime on Sunday, but much of the talk afterward was about the verbal confrontation between LeBron James and Tristan Thompson over a blown defensive assignment.
Toronto at Indiana 7:00 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers dropped a heartbreaker to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday in double overtime and find themselves on the outside of the top eight in the Eastern Conference. The Pacers will try to snap a four-game slide and jump back into the postseason picture when they host the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
Denver at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets will try to improve their slim playoff hopes when they continue a five-game road trip against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. After dropping the first two games of the trip to extend their losing streak to three, the Nuggets slipped past the Miami Heat by a 116-113 margin on Sunday.
Milwaukee at Oklahoma City 8:00 PM ET
Russell Westbrook continues to make individual history but is more interested in guiding his team to wins and locking up the best possible seed in the Western Conference playoffs. Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder will try to avoid a third straight setback when they host the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.
Chicago at New York 8:00 PM ET
The Chicago Bulls played their way back into the top eight in the Eastern Conference and can end up as high as the No. 5 seed with a strong finish. The New York Knicks, who host the Bulls on Tuesday, aren't likely to put up much of a fight after losing injured Derrick Rose for the season and reducing All-Star Carmelo Anthony's minutes.
Memphis at San Antonio 8:30 PM ET
Playing away from home has been a tough deal for the Memphis Grizzlies and they look to end a five-game road slide when they visit the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. Memphis dropped a 108-103 road game to the woeful Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday and traditionally struggles in San Antonio with a 7-35 regular-season mark in the Alamo City.
Portland at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers saw a six-game winning streak end at a bad time and seek to rebound when they visit the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. Portland dropped a 110-109 decision to lowly Minnesota on Monday to see its lead over Denver for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference shrink to 1 1/2 games.
Minnesota at Golden State 10:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors are seeking to become the winningest NBA team over a three-season span when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. The Warriors are owners of an 11-game winning streak and looking for their 204th victory over the last three campaigns to break a tie with the Chicago Bulls (1995-98).
Dallas at Sacramento 10:30 PM ET
The Dallas Mavericks are no longer in contention for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference and they face another outsider in the host Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. Dallas was lurking in case of collapses by both Denver and Portland but a 1-5 slide to end the month of March ended that possibility.
