Chi. Cubs at Washington 7:05 PM ET

A pair of Cy Young Award winners take the mound Tuesday, when the Washington Nationals host the Chicago Cubs for the second contest of their four-game series. Two-time Cy Young recipient Max Scherzer starts for the Nationals, hoping to outduel Jake Arrieta and even the set.

Tampa Bay at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates are looking for small signs of improvement as they try to climb out of an early-season hole and have a chance to inch closer to .500 with a solid homestand. The Tampa Bay Rays, who visit the Pirates for the start of a three-game interleague series on Tuesday, are embarking on a eight-game road trip before closing the first half with four at home against the Boston Red Sox.
Baltimore at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
Jose Bautista is making an impression at the top of the batting order for the Toronto Blue Jays, who look to continue their dominance of the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday when the American League East rivals open a three-game series at Rogers Centre. Bautista is 8-for-21 in five games since being elevated to the leadoff spot with a .480 on-base percentage and .571 slugging percentage.
Milwaukee at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers finally were able to exhale with a rare day off Monday following a dizzying stretch of 14 games in 13 days. The Brewers will look to pick up where they left off against the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday when the National League Central rivals open a three-game series at Great American Ball Park.
Minnesota at Boston 7:10 PM ET
A rare loss away from home snapped a three-game winning streak for the Minnesota Twins and dropped them out of first place in the American League Central. Minnesota hopes the return of Hector Santiago will stabilize its starting rotation as it continues its 11-game road trip against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday.
NY Mets at Miami 7:10 PM ET
The New York Mets are putting their fans through the emotional wringer on the current road trip while sweeping one series and being swept in another. The Mets will try to keep the consistency on the winning side when the trip switches coasts for the beginning of a three-game series at the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.
Texas at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians needed something dramatic to occur in order to avoid their longest losing streak in nearly two years - and that's exactly what happened. After erupting for a season-high run total in a 15-9 victory, the Indians look to carry the momentum into the second contest of their four-game series versus the visiting Texas Rangers on Tuesday.
Kansas City at Detroit 7:10 PM ET
The Kansas City Royals are surging up the American League Central standings and haven't lost a series since May 29-31, when they dropped two of three at home to the Detroit Tigers. The Royals will try to get some revenge and continue their ascent when they visit the Tigers for the start of a three-game series on Tuesday.
NY Yankees at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
Nothing is coming easy these days for the New York Yankees, who nearly squandered a five-run, ninth-inning lead in the opener of their seven-game road trip. New York can win back-to-back contests for the first time since a six-game run from June 7-12 when it continues its four-game road series against the reeling Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.
Oakland at Houston 8:10 PM ET
Carlos Correa and the majors-best Houston Astros aim to continue their torrid pace on Tuesday when the club begins a three-game series against the visiting Oakland Athletics. The 22-year-old carries a 14-game on-base streak into the series opener versus Oakland, against which Houston has won eight of nine encounters this season and 15 of 16 dating to last year.
St. Louis at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks appeared to be on the brink of wasting a fast start to the season in the middle of last month while the St. Louis Cardinals were flying high and on top of their division. The tide has shifted dramatically for both teams since, and the Diamondbacks hope to keep rolling Tuesday when they host the opener of a three-game set against the Cardinals.
LA Angels at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels probably won't catch Houston in the American League West, but they are starting to resemble a legitimate wild-card contender as they visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday for the second contest of their four-game interleague series. The Angels extended their winning streak to three games with a 4-0 victory on Monday, moving within one game of Minnesota for the second wild card while ending three significant Dodger streaks in the process.
Philadelphia at Seattle 10:10 PM ET
While June has proven to be a defining month for the Seattle Mariners, it has been little more than a continuation of an ongoing nightmare for the Philadelphia Phillies. Already assured of their first winning month of the season, the Mariners attempt to crawl back over .500 on Tuesday when they host the first of two games against the league-worst Phillies.
Atlanta at San Diego 10:10 PM ET
Matt Kemp’s two seasons in San Diego were a disappointment, but the Atlanta Braves left fielder returns to his former home Tuesday having rejuvenated his career. Kemp is hitting .302 with 24 homers in 118 games since the Padres sent him to Atlanta in a trade deadline deal last July, and a slimmed-down version of the player who hit .264 as a Padre enters the week seventh in the National League with a .320 average.
Colorado at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies have been unable to break out of their funk and won't have Carlos Gonzalez around to try and help them do it when they visit the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday for the middle contest of their three-game series. The Rockies, whose season-high losing streak reached six games with Monday's 9-2 defeat, placed Gonzalez on the 10-day disabled list because of a strained right shoulder.
