D'Eriq King threw five touchdown passes, including the winning 54-yard toss to Mike Harley with 2:43 remaining, as No. 11 Miami rallied to defeat North Carolina State 44-41 on Friday night in Raleigh, N.C.

King connected on 31 of 41 passes for 430 yards without an interception and also rushed for 105 yards on 15 carries. Harley had eight catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns as Miami (6-1, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) won its third game in a row and matched last year's victory total.

Zonovan Knight broke a 31-31 tie with a 100-yard kickoff return in the third quarter, his second touchdown of the game for NC State (4-3, 4-3). Knight, a running back, scored on a 1-yard run while wearing only one cleat as the Wolfpack grabbed a 31-24 lead earlier in the quarter.

After Knight's first TD, King struck back with a 17-yard touchdown strike to Mark Pope.

Christopher Dunn's 53-yard field goal on the first play of the fourth quarter pushed the Wolfpack's edge to 41-31.

NC State's Bailey Hockman was 19 of 28 for 248 yards and two touchdowns. He was intercepted after Miami's final touchdown, and the Hurricanes ran out the final 2:36.

Until the winning 84-yard drive, Miami was held to Jose Borregales' field goals of 38 and 22 yards in the fourth quarter. The latter came with 6:12 remaining after the Hurricanes were within a half-yard of the end zone before a fourth-down penalty pushed them back.

King threw three touchdown passes in the first 16 1/2 minutes, but the Wolfpack had the halftime lead at 24-21 following Hockman's 9-yard pass to Cary Angeline with 2:49 to play before the break.

Hockman scored on the game's first possession, taking a pass from receiver Thayer Thomas on a trick play and running behind blockers for a 31-yard touchdown.

Miami wasted little time in pulling even, converting on a fourth-and-1 from its own 34 on King's 42-yard run and scoring on King's 3-yard pass to Will Mallory.

Hockman hooked up with Devin Carter on an 11-yard touchdown play at the 6:31 mark of the first quarter. King responded with a 39-yard touchdown pass to Dee Wiggins.

Miami had its first lead at 13:34 of the second quarter when Harley reeled in King's 20-yard pass in the corner of the end zone.
