Joel Embiid scored 25 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to carry the Philadelphia 76ers past the Charlotte Hornets 108-94 Monday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Though Embiid committed nine turnovers, he recorded his fourth straight double-double and his team-leading 37th of the season. Embiid also became the first Sixer to come up with at least 20 points and 19 rebounds in consecutive games since Charles Barkley in 1991.

Marco Belinelli scored 21 points, Robert Covington added 18 and JJ Redick had 12.

Ben Simmons had a triple-double consisting of 11 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds. Simmons has dished out at least 10 assists in 19 games this season

The Sixers drained 18 treys overall in winning their third game in a row. They're 17-0 this season when holding the opponent to under 100 points.

Kemba Walker led the Hornets with 24 points while Willy Hernangomez added 17. Jeremy Lamb contributed 14, Malik Monk added 13 and Dwight Howard had 10.

Monk hit a couple of triples to cut the lead to 83-76 with 9:52 remaining.

Monk later threw down a dunk to tie the game at 88.

But the Sixers scored the next five points to get back ahead 93-88.

Covington then capped an 8-0 run with a trey for a 96-88 advantage. Belinelli followed with another 3-pointer and an 11-point lead with 3:56 left.

The 11-0 spurt was more than enough of a cushion to propel the Sixers to victory.

Embiid sparked the Sixers early in the third with a pair of 3-pointers, and they eventually surged to a 72-64 advantage.

Belinelli drained a difficult 3-pointer from the wing, giving the Sixers a 75-65 lead. It marked the 11th time in 15 games that Belinelli has provided at least 10 points off the bench.

Embiid's fourth trey of the game pushed the Sixers' lead to 81-70, and that 11-point advantage held up at the end of the third.

Charlotte held a 56-49 lead at halftime thanks to a strong second quarter in which it outscored the Sixers 38-28.
