The Milwaukee Brewers got home runs from Tyler Saladino and Jesus Aguilar in a five-run third inning and hung on to beat the visiting Atlanta Braves 5-4 on Friday at Miller Park, extending their winning streak to five games.

Saladino hit a two-run homer, his fourth, and Aguilar delivered a three-run shot, his 20th, in the rally against Atlanta starter Mike Foltynewicz (6-5).

After Atlanta scored three in the seventh to close to within one, Jeremy Jeffress pitched a scoreless eighth and got a crucial double-play grounder that was started by Saladino.

Corey Knebel worked a scoreless ninth inning and earned his 11th save. He allowed a one-out hit to Dansby Swanson, but the shortstop was thrown out by Manny Pina while trying to steal second. The Braves challenged the call, but it was upheld upon video review.

Atlanta got a run in the first inning when Ozzie Albies doubled home Ender Inciarte. It was the 29th double and 50th extra-base hit for the Braves second baseman. He became just the third player in team history to reach the milestone before the All-Star Game.

But that was the only run Atlanta pushed across against Milwaukee rookie Freddy Peralta (4-1), who gave up three hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out six and lowered his ERA to 2.14.

Atlanta rallied for those three runs in the seventh against Jacob Barnes, who failed to record an out and gave up four hits and one walk. Atlanta scored a run on an infield hit by rookie Ronald Acuna Jr., who had to leave the game with left groin tightness after crossing the bag. The Braves got two more runs on Swanson's single.

But lefty Dan Jennings, who worked two perfect innings on Thursday, got the next three outs and quell the rally.

Foltynewicz pitched six innings and gave up five runs on six hits, striking out seven. The right-hander suffered his worst outing since he allowed six runs against San Francisco on May 4. Over his previous nine starts he had permitted a combined seven runs.

Atlanta also made a roster move on Friday, placing rookie left-hander Max Fried on the 10-day disabled list with a blister on his middle finger.
